FOC response on a UTA alert

When the ship is mid-ocean, the owner wants one platform — and one operations center that answers.

// S-02 · The platform

Six modules. One platform, onboard and ashore.

NAVIS unifies hardware, connectivity, management and security in one integrated platform. Everything talks to everything, everything is visible from the control panel.

MOD-01

MAR — Marine Advanced Router

The heart onboard: a redundant marine router that aggregates every link (LEO, GEO, 5G, LTE) and balances them in real time, never losing the data path.

  • Dual node in hot-standby redundancy
  • Maritime SD-WAN with sub-second failover
  • Remote management and updates via FOC
MOD-02

OrbitMesh — Multi-orbit connectivity

High-capacity LEO, MEO, GEO Ku/Ka and 5G/LTE in port, fused into one network. Bandwidth follows the ship, wherever it sails.

  • Enterprise-grade LEO · broadband at open sea
  • Automatic failover across orbits and networks
  • Emergency L-band always on
MOD-03

NAVIS Bridge — Fleet control panel

A single digital bridge for the whole fleet: status of every ship, bandwidth, links, alarms, maintenance and consumption in a real-time dashboard.

  • Fleet view and single-ship view
  • Roles for owner, command and engineers
  • REST APIs and integration with your systems
MOD-04

HullSense — Advanced telemetry

Thousands of sensors — engines, hull, navigation, environment, energy — streaming to shore. Every parameter of the ship, in real time.

  • Engine, consumption and route telemetry
  • Configurable thresholds and alerts
  • Fleet-wide history and analytics
MOD-05

AEGIS — Predictive maintenance

Models that read the telemetry and anticipate failures: AEGIS flags the component to check before it stops, while the ship is still under way.

  • AI-based predictive maintenance
  • Automatic work orders and spare parts
  • Continuous remote engineering support
MOD-06

UTA — Under Threat Action

The maritime emergency system: medical video-consult, anti-piracy alert, distress and man-overboard. One button, and the Fleet Operations Center takes over the ship.

  • 24/7 tele-medicine video-consult
  • Security alert and anti-piracy protocol
  • Distress, SAR and live telemetry to the FOC
// S-03 · Onboard hardware

MAR — the router that never leaves the ship offline.

Marine Advanced Router is built for the sea: two nodes in redundancy, dual power, and SD-WAN intelligence that picks the best orbit or network instant by instant. If a link drops, data moves to the other without anyone onboard noticing.

  • Full redundancy

Dual hot-standby router, dual power, dual path to every orbit. Zero single point of failure.

  • Maritime SD-WAN

Aggregates LEO, GEO, 5G and LTE; balances traffic by priority and fails over in under a second.

  • Managed from shore

Configuration, firmware updates and diagnostics remotely from the FOC. No onboard intervention for updates.

  • Secure by design

Encrypted tunnels, segmentation of guest/operational/IoT networks, firewall and certified hardening.

UTA — when the ship needs help, the center is already with you.

Under Threat Action is the emergency response system of Nexim NAVIS. One gesture opens a priority channel to the Fleet Operations Center, which receives video, position and ship telemetry and coordinates the response — medical, security or rescue.

Medical emergency

Immediate video-consult with a doctor: the crew is guided step by step, with records and vital signs shared in real time.

Pirate attack / security

Silent alarm to the FOC, anti-piracy protocol, contact with authorities and ship tracking even from the citadel.

Distress & man-overboard

SAR activation, position and route shared with rescue centers, real-time coordination of the recovery.

Live telemetry to the FOC

In every scenario the FOC sees the ship live: position, sensors, engines and onboard video, to decide with the data in front of it.

// S-06 · Connectivity

Every orbit, every network, one router.

NAVIS combines the best carriers for each leg. MAR picks the best path instant by instant: you see a single, always-on network.

// S-08 · Onboarding

From ship to platform in five steps.

We come onboard as an extension of your technical crew. Firm timelines, no ping-pong between vendors.

  1. STEP 01 · PHASE

    Ship survey

Onboard analysis: antennas, existing networks, systems, needs of guests, crew and operations. We design the solution.

  2. STEP 02 · PHASE

    MAR installation

Mounting the redundant router and multi-orbit antennas, cabling, network segmentation. All to standard.

  3. STEP 03 · PHASE

    NAVIS integration

We connect telemetry, sensors and onboard systems to NAVIS Bridge. We activate HullSense, AEGIS and UTA.

  4. STEP 04 · PHASE

    Commissioning & go-live

Failover tests across orbits, UTA drills, dashboard checks. We go live only when everything works.

  5. STEP 05 · PHASE

    24/7 operations

The Fleet Operations Center monitors the fleet, handles alarms and supports the crew, every day of the year.

SEC-03 · CONTROL

Identity & access

RBAC on NAVIS Bridge, mandatory MFA, audit trail on every action. You know who did what, and when.

SEC-04 · CONTROL

SEC-06 · CONTROL

Safety & SOLAS

UTA and the emergency flows are designed in line with safety procedures and SOLAS requirements.

// S-12 · FAQ

The questions we get most often.

Q.01Does NAVIS work on any kind of ship?

Yes. The platform is the same for cruise ships, ferries, cargo, defense units, superyachts and offshore. The configuration and the active modules change, not the system.

Q.02What happens if the satellite link drops?

The MAR router aggregates multiple orbits and networks and fails over in under a second. The emergency L-band stays on for voice, safety and UTA, even in the worst case.

Q.03How does the UTA emergency system work?

One gesture opens a priority channel to the Fleet Operations Center, which receives video, position and telemetry and coordinates the response: medical video-consult, anti-piracy protocol or SAR activation.

Q.04Where is the operations center?

We run two redundant Fleet Operations Centers, in Milan and New York, live 24/7/365. They cover each other and manage connectivity, alarms and crew support.

Q.05Can I integrate NAVIS with my management systems?

Yes. NAVIS Bridge exposes REST APIs for telemetry, alarms and maintenance, to integrate with existing fleet, ERP and planned-maintenance systems.

Q.06How do you handle onboard cyber security?

Segregated networks, firewall, IDS and continuous monitoring from our SOC, in line with IMO 2021 and IACS UR E26/E27. Cyber is part of the platform, not an add-on.
